This is another custom request card.  A friend of mine has a son who is a captain in the US Army.  She asked that I make a Christmas card that she could send to her son and his wife.  After giving it some thought, I wanted to acknowledge his service to our country and I also wanted the card to reflect the true meaning of Christmas.  And this is what I came up with.

This is one of my all-time favorite cards that I have made.  It was the result of a request from a friend of mine.  She needed a card to send to her friend whose father had recently passed away.  The father was a World War II veteran.  On top of that, my friend had an aunt who was a nurse in World War II and had written a book about her experience.  I read the book; her writing was so descriptive that I could almost smell the smells, hear the sounds, and feel the heat and cold she wrote about.  So when I was making this card, all these emotions were going through my head.  I am naturally a very patriotic person and have a strong sense of national loyalty.  I also have a super high regard for veterans.  I pondered all these things and then found this paper and the rest is history.  I added the gold ribbon because the color reminded me of the uniforms that WW II soldiers wore.  And that is the story behind this card.

Alpacas

Alpaca themed cards

This was a very fun project.  One of my dearest friends raises alpacas.  She
also participates in a variety of alpaca related events and organizations, one of those being an auction.  I begged her (not really) to allow me to make a few cards to put in the silent auction.  I have never made an alpaca card before and these cards were way out of my "normal" box.  But, I wanted to support her efforts and her love of these beautiful animals.  So, this is what I came up with.  I hear they were a big hit!  I have already purchased an alpaca stamp and die set to make cards for next years auction.

Farmhouse themed anniversary card

This little farmhouse cutie was designed for a couple of lovebirds who
are building their farm.  A lot of their property has been dedicated to
an edible landscape.  They also raise chickens and keep bees.  So this
card seemed to suit them perfectly.  Isn't that little bee super cute?  I also love that their future plans
include developing an "events" section for outdoor weddings, Easter egg hunts,
church and family gatherings and who knows what else.

Peacock themed wedding card

My cousin asked me to make a wedding card for a peacock themed wedding that she was going to.  This is what I came up with.  It was fun to be given a "topic" and just run with it.

Flamingo birthday card

For the girl who loves the beach or anything tropical.  The lettering in this card is gold foil.  I got a new machine that turns black print into gold foil; it gives such a glam look to a card.

Hunter Boots card

Where are my Hunter Boots girls?  I made this card for a friend of mine who has pink Hunters with black polka dots.  Such a fun card.  I can customize the boots to match whatever your heart desires!  This can also be a birthday card, friendship card, or any other occasion.

Mermaid "I love you" card

Here is another mermaid card.  This one is one of my all-time favorites.  The soft colors and feminine touches.  I added three little charms to this one - a clam shell, a tropical fish and a starfish tied together with a coral colored silk ribbon.  I hope the recipient of this understands how much her hubby loves and adores her.  ðŸ’—

BREAST CANCER ENCOURAGEMENT CARDS

Do you know someone fighting a battle with breast cancer?  These 3 little cards were made with her in mind.  Send a note of encouragement to let her know you are alongside her, sending her courage to fight the battle.  The inside says:

YOU ARE A WARRIOR.
YOU ARE A FIGHTER.
AND SOON YOU WILL
BE A SURVIVOR.

Bookcase cards

These cards were commissioned by a friend who wanted "Thank You" note cards to send to members of her book club.  These are 4 variations on the same "Bookcase" stamp from Hero Arts.  It always fascinates me how you can use the same basis or paper for a card, use it in different ways and get very different looks.

Happy Hogmanay Day

This cart was made at the request of a customer who wanted to pay tribute to her Scottish roots by saluting Hogmanay Day.  Isn't the little kilt cute?
